In order to improve traffic safety and road condition of Enekuai Village, the New Enekuai Road was constructed in early March.
This road is part of the No. 11 mining plant to Enekuai village, with a total length of about 1,800 meters. The road is constructed in line with PNG’s current road traffic laws and regulations and construction standards to ensure that it can be accessed by light vehicles such as off-road vehicles, pickup trucks, and community buses.
The construction covers logging, cleaning, roadbed construction, road construction and involves 6 departments including Geology & Survey Office, Technical Service Office, Logging Section, Mining Section, Dispatch Office and HSE Office. In order to ensure the quality of the project, HSE Office, Technical Service Office and Geology & Survey Office are deeply involved in the construction of the road till its completion. In order to ensure safe operation, the operators strictly abide by safety rules and regulations, HSE Office installed traffic signs and safety signs along the road as per relevant standards.
The new road offers a better choice for local residents living at Enekuai and strengthened traffic safety along the road.
