Chairman of BSP, Sir Kostas Constantinou, during a visit to Ramu NiCo on August 23, expressed thanks for giving them excellent insights of the project.
The BSP BOD met with the President Gao Yongxue, who gave an overview of the Company’s investment scale, operation and challenges it is facing.
Mr. Gao in his presentation, emphasized Ramu NiCo’s contribution to social and economic development of Madang and PNG in ways of employment, spinoff business, community infrastructures, local procurement, royalties and taxes.
Ramu NiCo currently has approximately 900 national employees including landowners from project impacted communities, plus another 1500 national employees indirectly through contractors including NCS Raibus Limited, Raibus Security Limited and Raibus Engineering Limited.
Sir Kostas Constantinou was impressed by the performance of the project and its contribution to local economy, and looks forward to consolidating BSP’s cooperation and partnership with Ramu NiCo.
