In memory of the International Youth Day, KBK Mine organized a racing competition on May 5th.

The whole course is about 5.3 kilometers long, starting from the Chromite strockpile on the middle access road and ending at the camp gate. At 7:40 in the morning, all the participants assembled at the camp gate. After the organizers distributed bottled water and explained safety precautions, everyone took the bus to the starting point for the racing competition. At 8:08 in the morning, the racing started. Some employees run with their full strength from the beginning while others chose to save their strength for final sprint. There were also employees who do not care about their ranking and ran just for fan. Whoever completed the 5.3-kilometer run is already a hero.

To make sure that all employees compete the race safety,  ERT and the medical crew stood by for emergencies.

A lot of Chinese and national employees took part in the completion, and those who did not participate cheered and applauded for the successful returnees. Joe Ambu, a national employee attached to Washing Plant won the competition with 33 minutes.

The racing competition is an annual event on each International Youth Day, which is relaxing and a lot of fun for all. On the one hand, it helps employees exercise and maintain heathy life style, on the other hand, it also promotes cross-cultural communication between Chinese and nationals, now a lot of national employees and local residents are celebrating this competition together with Chinese employees, which also in a way embodies the true spirit of “One Ramu NiCo, One Community”.
