Ramu NiCo is now in good production and operation phase and the trend will continue if the current production and management standard continues.
The parent company of Ramu NiCo, Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) announced this on June 25 following a high-level delegation visit led by Vice President of MCC, Mr. Yan Aizhong.
Mr. Yan spoke highly of the recent year’s operational performance of Ramu NiCo and pointed out that after the company’s reorganization, China MinMetals Group and Metallurgical Corporation of China are in healthy condition following the opening up of the entire industry chain from metal mining, survey and design to operation.
Chinese state owned MinMetals Group has regrouped with MCC to give confidence to MCC’s operation in terms of finance, research and development, operation and production.
“As a strategically developed project of the New China MinMetals Group, MCC Ramu NiCo has continuously refreshed its production record and has become the benchmark and model of laterite projects in the world,”
“This is the result of the hard work by all Ramu NiCo staff, both expatriates and nationals and other stakeholders including the landowners,” Mr. Yan said.
To move the Project to the next phase, Mr. Yan proposed some specific requirements including actively reversing the unfavorable situation in the first quarter of production and operation and building a united, yet diversified Ramu NiCo culture.
Mr. Yan met with the senior management team of Ramu NiCo at the Company’s Operation Base in Madang on June 25 chaired by the Ramu NiCo President, Gao Yongxue.
The team companied by President Gao traveled to Kurumbukari Mine in Usino-Bundi district and Bsasamuk Refinery in Rai Coast district from June 26 to 28, where they learned the first-hand information on production and visited all the employees on site.
