During April 15th to 19th, HSE Department invited a trainer from Pacific Crane and Engineering Ltd to conduct Basic Scaffolding training for the scaffolders of Anti-Corrosion Plant, Basamuk Refinery. There were ten scaffolders attended the training which included 3 Chinese and 7 Nationals.
The training was consisted by two days’ theory education in classroom, and two days’ practice on site and a half day’s assessment. In the classroom, the trainer introduced the basic types of scaffoldings and the skills of erecting, modifying and dismantling of scaffolds. Besides that, he also analyzed the risks and control measures in detail in the process of erecting and using a scaffolding.
“Pacific Crane will issue certificates for the trainees who attended the training and passed the assessment.” The trainer said.
Currently, the scaffolders in Basamuk Refinery are all outsourced from Huachen Anti-Corrosion, a Chinese company, this training was to focus on MCC employees in Anti-Corrosion Plant.
From this training, employees’ scaffolding skills were improved, the number of qualified scaffolders in the refinery increases to complement operational compliance.
