Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Limited employees showed contentment attending this week’s lead auditor training conducted by Business System Certification Pty Limited of Australia.
The lead auditor training is a vital component of line managers on sites (Mine & Refinery) to extend their knowledge when on sites. The training also included other departments comprising of the Human Resources Management (HR), Health Safety and Environment department, Emergency Response Tactical Unit (ERT), and the training department from both sites to upskill their operational effectiveness during their day to day operations on sites and administration.
The largest nickel and cobalt mine in Papua New Guinea, also known as the Ramu Nickel and Cobalt Project in Madang province is an organization that always strives for operational effectiveness and excellence as well as maintaining strong culture of success in its operation since its inception.
Since then, Ramu NiCo has become a well-recognized mining company that is always striving to run its operations in line with Papua New Guinea’s laws and regulations for the betterment of its operation through its well measured and calculated management system that is recognized by all stakeholders and the mining industry.
The mine through its on-going high standards for production for all its employees organized a training session for its employees working in its Mine and Refinery sites with consultancy from an Australian auditing and training firm “Business System Certification Pty Limited” for a week long training that starting on Tuesday 26th .
The training was held at the Ramu NiCo head office in Madang town.
Management System Certification Services or Business System Certification Managing Director Mr. Sam Fernando said Ramu NiCo has a divers geographical settings that makes the operations of the Mine and Refinery unique thus it was very exciting to train and understand individuals in both sites to work and interact with each other.
He said after every theory, the employees from both sites attending the training at the head office were sent into groups to discuss on and work solutions on discussion topics.
The training will end this week with Globally Recognized Certificate from Exampay Global to each employees certifying them for their auditing work.
This training is among the much training that the Chinese Owned Nickel and Cobalt mining giant has been introducing to better upskill its line managers and respective department heads to produce excellent outcome in their respective departments to produce global standards while maintaining Papua New Guinea’s regulations in the auditing processes.
Sam Fernando said the company offers management system certification, evaluation, implementation, and auditing services.
He said the momentum that is displayed during the first and second day of the training demonstrated the interest the employees of Ramu NiCo have, and the desires they have to better improve within the respective departments they attached to.
The training would continue till the week ends before participants receive their auditing training certificates from Exampay Global which he would personally present.
