At 9:00 PM on February 14, severe weather disrupted sea traffic, and two police boats back to Madang were at risk of capsizing and overturning. Upon receiving the request, BSK Refinery of Ramu NiCo quickly dispatched security team members to provide assistance.
When BSK Refinery’s security team arrived, the 23 police officers with 4 prisoners were soaked through, exhausted, and in urgent need of food and shelter. BSK Refinery quickly made the decision to transport them to the BSK camp and provide all of them with hot meals, drinks, and accommodations. Through these emergency measures, BSK Refinery ensured that the officers could recover swiftly and get necessary rest.
Sheriff Nathan Kerry of the Madang Police Department expressed deep gratitude after receiving assistance. He said, “We are extremely grateful for the help provided by the BSK Refinery in such an unexpected situation. The BSK Refinery’s selfless aid demonstrates deep friendship and humanitarian spirit.
