The Ileg Aid Post in Astrolabe Bay local level government area is still benefiting from the ongoing support of the Ramu NiCo medical drug supply program.
The medical support program under the Ramu NiCo Community Affairs’ Community Development Fund (CDF) program is a crucial lifeline for the community as the country continues to face significant shortages of medical supplies.
Nursing officer Martin Uma expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the community for the sustained assistance, particularly thanking the Community Affairs Department and Ramu NiCo for their commitment to healthcare in the area.
The medical subsidy provided by Ramu NiCo is making a tangible difference for over 3,000 residents in the area, ensuring they have access to necessary medications and medical services despite the prevailing challenges.
Mr. Uma, who previously served at the Ganglau Aid Post before his recent transfer to Ileg, noted that the ongoing support is especially appreciated given the current constraints on healthcare resources across the nation.
Medical orders destined for aidposts in Usino were dispatched on 26 of March, 2025, with additional supplies sent to Ileg Aid Post on 03 April, 2025.
Ramu NiCo also made arrangements and sent medical supplies for Ganglau Aid Post in Raicoast and Enekuai Aid Post in Kurumbukari.
The community’s reliance on the Ileg Aidpost underscores the critical importance of consistent medical support in remote areas, and the efforts of Ramu NiCo continue to play a vital role in safeguarding the health of local populations.
Mr Uma said the people of Ramu NiCo’s Coastal Pipeline Association are thankful for the continuous support from Ramu NiCo mine.
