On January 18, 2019, the 2019 work conference of the Ramu Company was successfully held. Gao Yongxue, President of Ramu NiCo made a work report titled “Refine Operation Management, Open the New Chapter for Development”; Mr. Zong Shaoxing Chairman of Ramu NiCo delivered a speech titled “Improve Quality, Stabilize Operation, Enhance Global”.

On the conference, President Gao highlighted Company’s 2018 achievements and said the Company’s operation emphasis for 2019 focuses on stabilizing high capacity production, facilitating project expansion and delivering annual operational targets.

The Company’s 2018 production was organized in a balanced and stable manner with all economical targets met and the Basamuk Refinery’s high pressure acid leaching plant (HPAL) processing capacity kept 14 % higher than designed capacity, thus demonstrating Ramu NiCo’s leading position in nickel laterite industry worldwide. The Company produced 35,353 tons of nickel at 108 % nameplate capacity, when annual targets completion rate was as high as 103,97 %, which is 1.99 % year-on-year increase. He also highlighted that 3,336 tons of nickel was produced in June 2018 at 116.9 % nameplate capacity, which was the best record any other nickel laterite industry has even seen worldwide, thus placing Ramu NiCo (MCC) in the top ten ranking worldwide.

In 2018, the Company achieved outstanding operation performance through management refinement and production ramp-up.

While Chairman Zong pointed out that RAMU NiCo was highly recognized on its outstanding performance in 2018 by its parent company, China Minmetals Corporation for maintaining high and stable production hitting new records.

Mr. Zong Shaoxing during the Company’s  2019 Annual Working Conference said that China Minmetals also granted Ramu NiCo the award for completing annual budget, the achievement highlights the recognition and encouragement by China Minmetals.

Chairman Zong Shaoxing also called on the company management to deliver targets set by MCC with high sense of responsibility.

“As Chinese President Xi Jingping stressed, success is achieved by 10 % planning and 90 % implementation.”

“We must at the set targets and be proactive in implementing all decisions and deployments of the company,” Mr. Zong said.

Mr. Zong in his address said in 2019 more attention should be paid on effective implementation.

“We must aimed at set targets and be proactive in implementing all decisions and deployments of the Company.

“Management teams of all levels should be responsible for optimizing management and ensuring safe production with higher safe of duty, focus on stabilizing production, strengthening management, increasing revenue and underpinning new development.” Mr. Zong said.

Finally, Mr Zhong emphasized that Ramu NiCo would need to do its utmost best to complete all the targets and tasks to meet the expectations of the parent company.

“All leaders should improve working style, strengthen discipline and overcome difficulties in joint efforts,” Mr. Zong said.

The conference was held simultaneously via video at KBK Mine, BSK Refinery, Madang Base and Beijing Office, all company executives, departmental heads, supervisors and above attended the conference.
