The limestone quarry office of Basamuk Refinery has recently been successfully relocated through joint efforts.
Given the lack of experience, relevant departments conducted a thorough risk assessment on site and developed a detailed plan for lifting and transferring the two office buildings. This plan was reviewed by the Registered Manager and the HSE Manager to ensure safety in performing the task.
Prior to the task, steel structures and frames were firmly installed under and around the buildings, it took 10 to 15 days to weld a structure on each building. Two mobile cranes and a plate truck were dispatched to transfer the buildings; the slings were connected to the structure rather than the building itself to protect the building during transportation.
The new office area was paved with concrete as a permanent facility. The two buildings now are placed opposite to each other to allow easier communications between employees working in those buildings. New iron roofs were installed as well as a generator, two toilets, a water tank and a siren, the parking lot is also located near the office for convenience and safety.
This relocation of the office buildings were carried out efficiently, which not only saved trouble and cost of purchasing new ones, but also provided a more comfortable working environment for employees.
