RAMU Nickel and Cobalt project recorded a high production output that rose above its design capacity or four conservative years from 2016-2020
According to a statement from the company, the production output for year 2020 which coincided with an achievement of 103.3 per cent above its design capacity.
This was announced by the president of Ramu NiCo management Gao Yongxue recently at the company’s 2021 annual working conference
Mr Gao said the Company’s production output went above its designed capacity for the fourth consecutive years.
The nickel and cobalt amount is ranked in the top 10 in the industry, and its production operation performance is first class among global competitors.
Mr Gao highlighted a number of areas which paved the way for the high production output in 2020.
“We prioritised number of aspects of work while centering on the production operation plan set early in the year,” he said
“The company made great efforts in maintaining stable production and optimising processing equipment. Over the year, the project’s rated indexes were well controlled and the various process indexes were favourable with regard to the requirements in the plan set early in the year,” said Mr Gao.
He said strict management was put in place for procurement with procedures standardised, and more efforts were made on the bidding and tendering for bulk materials and shipping service and a significant drop in the;procurement costs.
“Market trends were also tracked closely, favourable opportunities were seized, and marketing strategies adjusted in time, have increased sales returns.”
He said the company also upheld the idea of “One Ramu NiCo, One Community” aimed at achieving long term development for RNML.
