Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Limited (RNML) held its 2023 Annual Working Conference on the Tuesday 10th, January, to review the work accomplishments in 2022 and arrange work for 2023.
Beijing Office in China, Kurumbukari (KBK) Mine, Basamuk (BSK) Refinery all joined in on the conference virtually which was hosted at the headquarters in Madang.
RNML President Mr. Dong Gaofeng delivered the annual work report to which he opened his speech by saying, “gathering our strength to take up the mission and go on a new journey. With steady steps, continue to write a new chapter in Ramu NiCo’s growth”.
Meaning the corporation has successfully completed 2022 production year despite having to combat epidemics, ensure safety and minimize risks.
Our safety management keeps getting better every year and the localization process has also advanced. The company was dedicated to the project’s long-term success, offering staffs’ specialized training programs on production procedures, equipment uses, health and safety, etc., and dispatching a significant number of skilled professionals and technicians to Papua New Guinea.
“Even though it was a fruitful year, there are some challenges that we need to maneuver our way around strategically in order to minimize damage to the production for 2023. The mine’s raw ore grade is getting lower and lower every year, while the cost of bulk raw materials keeps rising,” President Dong Gaofeng said.
Therefore, President Dong advised RNML employees during the conference that the more difficulties and challenges are on the journey forward, the more self-confidence they must all have. The President went on saying, “We should endeavor to forge new ground and play a new role in advancing Ramu NiCo’s high-quality growth”.
The annual work conference also saw 47 employees of RNML receiving the Employee of the Year awards for their outstanding performance in 2022.
