On August 28, 2024, a delegation of ten Papua New Guinea employees from Ramu NiCo, who will participate in the 2024 “China Copper Cup” Overseas Enterprise Local Team Leader Comprehensive Management Skills Competition, visited the Beijing office for an exchange program. Ramu NiCo’s Chairman Wang Zhou attended the meeting.

Wang Zhou extended the warmest welcome to the PNG employees, who had traveled across the ocean to visit Beijing. He noted that the Ramu NiCo project has been based in Papua New Guinea for over a decade, cultivating thousands of local employees who have excelled in their roles. Employees are considered the most valuable asset of the project. The delegation comprises the best employees selected from BSK Refinery, KBK Mine and HSE Department, and Wang expressed his gratitude for their hard work and dedication to the company.

Wang emphasized that the company always respects knowledge, experience, and talent, and values and encourages employees to realize their potential. He advocates a working relationship based on “working together, mutual respect, building friendships, and progressing together.” Ramu NiCo is committed to building a talent pool that is diverse, professional, international, and localized. With the continuous development and expansion of the project, the demand for talent is also growing. While the company will continue to recruit and attract more local talent, it will also intensify training efforts, offering more internal and external training opportunities, and consistently selecting outstanding employees to visit China for training, thus enhancing their management skills and professional capabilities. Wang encouraged PNG employees to use this skills competition as an opportunity to broaden their horizons, explore their potential and opportunities, continuously surpass themselves, and wished them excellent results in the competition.
